Kindness Story from Serena Stout From: Salazar Elementary School, Santa Fe, NM 11/23/06

One day my friend and I were climbing an apple tree. We were swinging on the branches and my
friend fell off. I helped her up. She said she was ok but asked if we could take a break. I said
yes, we went in the house and I gave her some ice and a band-aid. We went back to the tree, and
when I was climbing, I tripped and fell. As an act of kindness, she helped me up and we both
laughed. Later, I realized small act of kindness goes a long way.
Sincerely,
Serena Stout, 6th Grade
